Jackfruit Burger- BBQ-Style

The perfect burger for vegans. So incredible with the BBQ-Sauce.

For the BBQ-Sauce

  • ½ cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 25 ml water
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp worcester sauce
  • ½ tsp sweet pepper powder
  • ½ tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp mustard

Jackfruit Pulled Pork

  • 1 can jackfruit
  • ½ tbsp oil
  • ½ onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ tsp sweet pepper powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp coriander
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup BBQ-Sauce



  • Mix all ingredients for the sauce togehter. Whisk until everything is well combined.

Jackfruit Pulled Pork

  • Drain, rinse and thoroughly dry the jackfruit. Place in a bowl. Using ur fingers or forks, break apart the chunks of jackfruit into shredded pieces. Add the seasonings and the oil. Toss to combine and set aside to marinate while you cook the onion.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet and the the onion. Cook until translucent for about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, until thr garlic is fragrant.
  • Add the jackfruit and cook for about 3 minutes until it begins to color light brown and crispy.
  • Add the BBQ-Sauce, stir and cook covered for another 10 minutes on low heat.


You can use bought burger buns or you do it by yourself like me.
